Having just levelled his round two match at one set all, Andy Murray retired against Marcel Granollers in the Rome Masters.

The world number two was struggling with a hip problem, but appeared to be getting back on terms in the match having won the second set to level the match at 3-6 7-6(5).

But immediately afterwards, Murray shook his Spanish opponent’s hand and retired, raising concerns over his fitness ahead of the French Open, which begins on May 26.
